NICE are aiming to develop a completely new section of the NICE Web site, specifically useful to general practice. This will contain materials that are specifically written for the general practice pages, as well as links to other useful parts of the NICE Web site, to NHS Evidence - the Web based search which helps you find, access and use hihg quality clinical information (www.evidence.nhs.org).
The first mailing to the NICE General Practice Reference Group was sent out in June 2010. In summary, there was a lot of support for the idea of seperate pages for general practice but the Reference Group found it hard to navigate the layout, and sometimes it wasn't clear what the purpose of a section was, or what the benefit was to users in providing certain information.
As a result of comments from the Reference Group, NICE have revised the structure of the Web pages and have done some work on the design, to provide a better idea of what the final pages will look like.
NICE believe that practice managers will play a key role in setting up systems and processes to embed evidence based decision making into gemeral practice and are inviting members of the Practice Management Network to feedback on the new site.
Please ensure that completed forms are returned to general.practice@nice.org.uk by 5pm on Friday 3 September 2010.
For more information on the pilot please see the attached NICE General Practice Reference Group Letter.
