Katherine Andrews

Katherine is a project manager working for NHS Networks, supporting the members of two groups - the Practice Management Network and the PBC Connection.  Her role with the NHS since 2002 has varied from Administrator to Programme Manager, but has always pivoted around successful networking.

Her current role is to make sure that each network member gets the chance to be involved in a way that creates the greatest benefit, for them, their organisation and the wider health community.  She is a firm believer in learning from each other through sharing and discussing ideas.  Informal exchanges and debates can often deliver an answer you didn't even realise you were seeking, invigorating the work you are doing, building confidence and creating valuable relationships.

Her varied background includes event and contract management, corporate fundraising and staff development, establishing pain management and weight control groups and even performing as a knifethrower during a sabbatical in Europe.

Katherine's first NHS role in 2002 was with The Engaging Communities Learning Network which started as a small group of PPI Leads wanting to learn more about embedding patient engagement into their organisations.  The strength of the network grew to 1,800 members through workshops, national events and friendly, personal communication, including consistently encouraging members to recognise their strengths and providing an environment to share learning with their colleagues.  Many of the relationships formed are still going strong.

Katherine enjoys keeping fit, swimming, long walks in the countryside, motorcycling and all types of music.  She has a passion for enjoying good food with friends and of course, meeting new people.
