General practice today: ‘endless questions, few answers’

The current recruitment crisis is well known, but when will someone do something about the inequality that is being created in local health economies? GP’s want to do less sessions in general practice, but are happy to do additional locum shifts or work for out of hours organisations.  The reason is publicly cited as being wanting flexibility, but perhaps they are instrumental in creating these local economies and protecting their ability to earn higher fees.
