Hang on there! The CQC’s Steve Field is saying that they have shown that general practice is ready to be invested in. I think that is something that we already knew and the majority of us have dealt with the rather compliant CQC approach to inspections.
It is what we do and we do it well. Of more concern, is the admission that both the government and the CQC were working to an agenda to ‘shine a spotlight’ on the worst performing practices with a view to merger or closure. This would ensure that any future investment would only go to good examples of practice. Disappointing to say the least….
