Remind patients of health responsibilities

Health Secretary, Mr Hancock said he wants to see people taking ‘greater personal responsibility’ for managing their health.  He suggests that GP’s should remind patients about their responsibilities in keeping themselves well.

We have already recognised that wellbeing is essential and incorporate that into the way we deliver services.  This means that significant work is done with the third sector and patient groups.  We have been doing this for ‘free’ over the years and many examples of outstanding CQC ratings are demonstrative of this aspect.  Investment into primary care would allow this aspect to flourish, but it should be guarded with a clear understanding about how and when any investment is made.

We all need to be accountable.
